Fabulous beachfront Waihau Bay accommodation perfectly located for touring the East Cape region.  We are situated on the safe and sandy beach (pictured), considered by many to be the best beach in the East Cape area.  On arrival at Oceanside Apartments you will be greeted by Jan with a complimentary beverage, then you can relax and enjoy your spacious unit, fully selfcontained  accommodation Waihau Bay,  both of which have sea views. Plus if you feel like a night off cooking then arrange in advance a fabulous fresh fish and seafood meals, all with home made hot bread rolls straight from the oven, salads, picked daily from our own garden, sauces and dressings all made in our own kitchen.

The motel is centrally located which will enable you to explore the areas around Waihau Bay, such as Whanarua Bay, Cape runaway, Lottin point, Hicks Bay, Te Araroa, and the East Cape Lighthouse, all within a 45 min drive.

Waihau Bay is a small coastal bay, with all the required amenities immediate to hand, while still isolated enough to be removed from the hustle and bustle of modern day life.  Petrol is available, a country store, and hotel bar are situated in the small village.

East Cape fishing is renown for the mighty kingfish, marlin and tuna in season, bay of plenty fishing for snapper  hapuku, terakihi, or try snorkeling  to enjoy the regions underwater scenery, abundance of shellfish and crayfish. Fishing charters can be arranged by Jan for your enjoyment, just advise us the type of fishing you would like to do, land based, bottom or game fishing.   There is the opportunity to hire one of our sea kayaks to use in the surf, or paddle in the bay,  or just relax, enjoy the 2 km beach, and take a walk around the rocks to see the diversity of life in the rock pools.
